In her work at Winship Cancer Institute, Wendy Baer, MD, helps patients and their families deal with the stress of receiving a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment. As a psychiatrist, she has expertise in treating clinical depression and anxiety both with medications and psychotherapy to help people manage emotions, behaviors and relationships. Dr. Baer serves as director of psychiatric oncology at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. She also serves as vice chair for wellness in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology.

Dr. Baer is very well versed with her medical knowledge of a breast cancer patient's mindset in dealing with the diagnosis and all of of the treatments. She is extremely knowledgeable in what questions to ask to present meaningful conversations to help get to the root cause of a person's issues.....stemming all the way back to precancer diagnosis and the patients history of other mental stressors.
