About the Provider

Dr. Hu is a board certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) physician with fellowship training in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine. He was born and raised in South Florida, and later attended the University of Florida for undergraduate studies where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Economics. He then moved to Arizona for medical school, and lastly made his way to the NY/NJ metro area for residency and fellowship training. After completing his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Dr. Hu further specialized his training by completing a fellowship in Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine where he enhanced his diagnostic and procedural skills via ultrasound and fluoroscopically guided measures.

Dr. Hu takes special interest in treating spine, joint, and nerve pain using non-interventional (e.g., activity/lifestyle changes, physical therapy, various non-opioid medications, etc.) and interventional (e.g., steroid injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulation, and other minimally invasive procedures) treatment options.

A strong believer in patient-centered care, Dr. Hu emphasizes “I understand each patient is unique regarding their goals after treatment, and also in their comfort level in the numerous treatment options available. I encourage all my patients to be as involved in the decision-making process as much as they would like. I also understand some patients prefer a hands-off approach and would rather simply put their faith and trust in my treatment plan and stick to it – I’m happy to do that as well. My ultimate goal is to provide the highest quality of care by formulating the most effective and individualized treatment plan in which the patient is directly involved and comfortable with, rather than simply following a ‘cookbook’ treatment plan or enforcing a ‘my way or the highway’ approach. I believe when the patient is actively involved in their care, the experience is significantly more positive, and the results follow.”

Outside of work, Dr. Hu cherishes the time he spends with his wife, son, and extended family. You may also catch Dr. Hu playing various sports, hiking the trails, cheering in the stands of a sporting event, or maybe even in a foreign country – he loves to travel!
Dr. Hu looks forward to using his wealth of experience and extensive skillset to provide the highest standard of care for the Atlanta metro community and, more personally, to establish lifelong relationships with his patients.
