Takeia Horton is EXCELLENT!!!

Provider did not perform the main reason- annual mole check I was at appointment which is asked on the pre check in and at the time of appointment. Asked me to make another appointment for the medical service. I was not happy with this since appointments are far out and I live a distance from this facility.

Tameka is wonderful. She explained options, gave her recommendation and let me decide on our course of action.

Dr. Horton is so, so kind. She takes her time to listen. She ALWAYS asks "do you have more questions for me?" She never rushes the appointment. She lets me talk and explain my concerns. I wish all doctors were like her. It just made me feel empowered as a patient.

Even though the PA gave me fast explanations about my issues I presented with and treatment plans, I was unable to grasp it all! This was new to me, had lots of questions, to which I was being given answers that required major life changes, long term serious actions with lasting consequences! Definitely needed little more patience and detailed discussions of options so that I could make an informed decision about my care!

I liked her a lot. The last dermatologist MD I had, I did not like him at all. When I was concerned about an irregularity I had, she fixed right away. When I brought that irregularity up to the last Doctor, he suggested that I go to a doctor friend oh his outside of Emory to get it fixed instead of him doing it himself while I was right there!! It was a simple fix with a little liquid nitrogen. So she was a great breath of fresh air compared to the last doctor.

I left with a smile. Nice to be treated by a professional who cares.

I realized after I left, Takie had not looked in between my toes and wasn't as thorough on my scalp as previous PA. But she answered all my questions and asked several times if I had any other questions (I had made a note in my phone of all my questions).

I have worked at Emory University for 25 years. This was one of the BEST appointments that I've had. PA Horton had an ease about her that made me very comfortable. She answered my questions in a way that I understood. I felt no tension or anxiety during this visit. She was phenomenal!

Dr. Horton is so kind. She makes the visits light-hearted while addressing my concerns. I love that she ends each visit by asking "What questions do you have for me?" That makes me feel empowered to advocate for myself or to get clarity if I'm confused.

Out of all the treatment I have received at Emory since 2019, this PA was the best that I've had to address my condition. She was extremely attentive and knowledgeable in addressing my condition.

Amazing provider. When I scheduled my follow-up I was sure to clarify that I wanted my same provider again. She clearly explained everything and gave me options on removal vs waiting a few months to see if there are changes.

Takeia Norton provided a follow up to a scalp melanoma removal. She identified certain other abnormalities and took some skin samples for biopsy. She then contacted me with the results which will require further treatment. She is at the top of her PA game as well as her nurse assistant. I trust her with my skin issues and her diligence will probably catch further skin issues in the future. Takeia should be the template for other Emory PA's.

She has been very helpful by Portal, too.
