Although Dr. Maughon did not see the deterioration that my pain should have caused, he listened and heard me regarding finding a solution to my problem, even referring me to another surgeon!

The doctor explained everything and why he was gonna do the treatment that we were gonna go forward with.

The doctor and I seemed to have a communication gap. I told the doctor that the day of my visit was an unusually pain-free day, and the only communication I've gotten from the office since then is congratulations on fixing the pain. Despite the fact that I have reported that the pain (as expected) returned, and the ache of the shoulder and elbow can be overwhelming at times and prevent me from doing many things (as I described during the visit). The doctor did suggest a treatment I'll look into, but I just can't be sure that he understood what I was saying to him about the pain.

It would have been helpful 1. Clear instructions on what to do after surgery 2. No mixed instructions for some other surgery 3. I pulled a muscle in my knee and was in even more pain during post op recovery 4. Bedside manner of surgeon5. Please don't shame me 6. Listen to all patients and be considerate 7. Explain meds and how to take them 8. Don't have patients sign consent without explaining what is being signed; if the surgeon is in a hurry have someone else get the consent form signed 9. I'm not a young athlete; I'm a 70 year old senior who wants to be treated with dignity and respect as well as compassion.10. Customer service is expected and should always be given 11. On the first visit, Sizing up my husband rather than talking to me

Dr. Maughon has preformed 3 prior surgeries which is why I entrusted my knee replacement to him. The after care has not been good. I often feel dismissed and rushed. Finding and getting an appointment with a competent physical therapist has been nearly impossible and I strongly feel and encourage greater relationships be formed between the surgeon and several physical therapist. Without a physical therapist the surgery is a waste of time and money. A patients question or concerns may seem silly but they should be listened to and time taken to explain. I usually have a wait after my appointment time only to then feel rushed through my appointment

Everything is good and no bad

Dr. Maughon saw me through several years of maintaining arthritic knees before assessing on this visit that replacements are necessary. He helped extend the life of my knees so that additional replacements in the future may not be necessary.
