About the Provider

A board certified pathologist, Dr. Li's clinical focuses are hematopathology, flow cytometry, and molecular genetic pathology of hematolymphoid and solid organ tissue malignancies. He began practicing with Emory Healthcare in 2000.

Dr. Li received an MD from AnHui Medical University in China and a PhD from University of Iowa. He completed his residency at University of Pennsylvania Hospital and a fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Dr. Li is interested in the investigation of the underlying molecular mechanisms of lymphomagenesis, the identification of new markers to aid in diagnosis and clinical outcome predictions of malignant hematopoietic disorders, and the development of new diagnostic tests in the field of hematopathology.

Dr. Li has over 50 publications including a book chapter and peer-reviewed articles in the academic journals Oncology, American Journal of Clinical Pathology, and International Journal of Surgical Pathology, among others.

Professional Memberships

Dr. Li is a member of the Discovery and Developmental Therapeutics Research Program, the American Society of Clinical Pathology, the American Society of Hematology, and the College of American Pathologists. He has served as a diplomat for the American Board of Pathology on three specialty boards: Anatomic and Clinical Pathology, Hematology, and Molecular Genetic Pathology.
