Shelley M Dunson-Allen, MD

Dr. Shelley Dunson Allen is a Board Certified OB/GYN and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is the founder of Providence Womens Healthcare with offices located in Alpharetta/Roswell, Johns Creek and Atlanta/Dunwoody.

Dr. Dunson Allen has remained in independent medical practice and has grown her practice group to include OB/GYN physicians and certified Nurse Midwives with 3 office locations in North Fulton. Her medical practice is on the cutting edge of obstetrics and offers an exciting new model for prenatal care, "Centering Pregnancy" that has been endorsed by The American College of OB/GYN, the National Institute of Health, the United Way and the March of Dimes as the preferred method of prenatal care to be offered in the United States in the decades to come. In addition to offering "Centering Pregnancy", Dr. Dunson Allen also established Providence Midwifery in 2012. With her skilled and experienced nurse midwives, their practice proudly boasts a 15% cesarean section rate and offers natural birthing options to patients seeking a more holistic approach to their birthing experience. In addition to their Obstetrics practice, Dr. Dunson Allen and her physician colleagues at Providence Womens Healthcare have extensive Gynecology experience and specialty training in Robotic Laparoscopic Surgery. 

Dr. Dunson Allen currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Obstetrical and Gynecological Society. She is Immediate past  Chief of Staff at Wellstar North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, GA and is past Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Emory Johns Creek Hospital in Johns Creek, GA.
