Shamie Das is an Attending and Clinical Instructor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Emory University Hospital. With a background in social and biological sciences his professional passions are delivering the highest quality patient care and advocating for the profession of medicine.
He has been active in organized medicine since 2010 and has held regional and national positions within state medical societies and the American Medical Association (AMA). He is active within the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and locally at the Georgia College of Emergency Medicine (GCEP).
Dr. Das co-founded the nation's first completely medical student-run talkshow (now podcast), entitled: RadioRounds. The project aspires to explore the ""hidden curriculum"" of humanism in medicine and the joy of practice from accomplished physician authors, leaders and innovators. www.radiorounds.org
Professionally, Dr. Das is also involved in the development of quality improvement initiatives and financial education in residency.
