To be honest, I felt like he had his opinion of what my treatment options should be and didn't really pay attention to my concerns about my ability to do some of the things he asked. For example, I wasn't sure if he was familiar with the fact that I was an oncology patient in Emory or not as when I mentioned my neuropathy from the chemo he asked if I was still in chemo, and I haven't been in chemo in about a year. Secondly, he kept telling me I had to lose wait and be under 400 lb before you would perform the surgery and didn't seem to pay attention or acknowledge or care about the fact that I've been trying to lose the weight naturally but because of being forced into menopause from the cancer and the amount of insulin I'm on daily, losing weight has been impossible which is why I am finally trying to go this route.

Dr. Steinberg is obviously very knowledgeable. He took the time to answer all my questions and explain my options, drawing them out on the board to make sure everything was clear. He gave me my next steps very clearly and promptly sent my referrals so I could get care ASAP.

Absolutely a very professional doctor. He showed me the actual CT exam and explained the hernia areas. He answered all my questions about surgery and I felt he was very willing to explain when and if surgery would be necessary . I would highly recommend him and would certainly use him as my surgeon.
