About the Provider

Dr. Faught is Director of the Emory Epilepsy Center. He is a graduate of Harvard College (A.B. cum laude, 1968). He attended medical school at Columbia University and Vanderbilt University (M.D., Vanderbilt, 1972). His internship, residency in neurology, and fellowship in Epilepsy and EEG were completed at the University of Virginia (Charlottesville). From 1980 to 2009, he was a full-time faculty member of the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Birmingham. He founded and directed the UAB Epilepsy Center. In 2009, he moved to Emory. His research interests are clinical trials of new antiepileptic drugs and epidemiology of epilepsy. Dr Faught is a Colonel in the United States Army Reserve and a former Commander of an US Army Hospital. He has published over 300 scientific articles and book chapters.
