I told Dr Calis at the time of the appointment that he was the third podiatrist that I have seen over the last 5 years, but he is the first one who listened well, ask questions on the initial consultation and prescribed a course of treatment that took my foot pain from severe and limiting to being able to exercise again. We are now working to fine tune things to better my long term success.

World class experience with Dr calis

First time I have consulted with the doctor and I liked it a lot, he gave me confidence and security, he explained me in detail and solved all my doubts, excellent doctor.

I had seen another podiatrist recommended by my primary which wasn't a good experience. I searched via AI for a second option and found Dr. Calis. He was excellent. Explained in detail, what he diagnosed as likely root cause of my problem and offered good solutions. I would recommend Dr. Calis to anyone.

It was an intimidating experience. The textbook style treatment style was formal and lacked a conversational approach, failing to approach with empathy or connect with me as a person and established report. The Interaction was highly structured, leaving me with only yes or no responses. Additionally, the doctor, who was halfway in and halfway out of the room, asked me, "That's not your real name, right?" He repeated this twice. He also asked where I was from and seemed to enjoy his questions. I felt embarrassed, especially since the door was open and there was no privacy. When he mentioned that he was Palestinian, I didn't know where we were going or why all this was happening. Perhaps he was curious, but sometimes asking for permission to ask questions, especially when they have nothing to do with medicine, is considered courtesy.

Dr Calis was especially clear in his explanations and prescribed path forward.

Dr Callis offered a full explanation of hallux rigidus and offered to refurbish rather than replace my orthotics, an affordable solution

Outstanding care

Dr. Calis provided excellent care. He described in detail the biomechanical changes seen with both my feet/toes. After discussing options, he was able to promptly give me two cortisone injections. Later viewing the injection ultrasound video clips was educational and helpful. Dr. Calis answered all of my questions, including best shoe options.

Dr Calis is probably the best non-invasive DPM I have met or dealt with. All his suggestions are always correct and all orthotics he has had made for me have been excellent. I certainly have recommended him to other people with foot/ankle issues.

Dr. Calis was on time and spent much time assuring me that my foot was heeled and I don't neem the boot. He was personable and displayed high levels of knowledge of my injury. I was impressed that he recalled our previous session in much detail. Again, he made me feel like family

Feedback: (1) Dr. Calis was friendly, although rushed and slightly disengaged (I am comparing this to another Emory Ortho doctor I have worked with). But I did appreciate that he came back into the room to answer a question I had regarding a structural anomaly I wanted to confirm was irrelevant. (2) He answered my questions but I would have liked more detail and context so that I fully understood the diagnosis, prognosis, risks, etc. - e.g. What kind of fracture Is It? Will It take longer to heal because I cannot fully rest It after my knee surgery? (3) Possible misdiagnosis - the facts of my case didn't line up and so I went and got a second opinion from an ER doctor. There Is clearly another fracture line visible In the Images, which means this is likely a comminuted fracture. This would explain the outward position of the toe. However, the ER doctor did affirm that the toe is not displaced and treatment is the same.In the end, no harm no foul, but I will check out other doctors before I consider returning to Dr. Calis.

I scheduled this appointment with Dr.Calis because I was having pain and some swelling one of my toes on right foot. During this visit I told Dr.Calis about the pain and swelling on my middle toe on my right foot. This started a few days prior to the visit. Dr. Calis diagnosed me with hammertoe on the middle toe,which I had not hear of before. I asked what cause this,he mentioned it could be the orthotics or from my shoes. I asked if we needed to do an X-ray of this issue and he said no and give me one gel to cover the area for the hammertoe. I don't recall discussing a treatment plan for the hammertoe diagnosis. My concern as I expressed to Dr. Calis Is that there will no infection and he said. I want to make sure I am doing everything to maintain good health.

Dr Calis was wonderful and I will be seeing him for a follow up in a few weeks. He was attentive and helpful. He was able to solve my issue the inserts have my Achilles Tendon feeling better already

The primary purpose of my visit was to establish a podiatrist for future needs and look at minor ingrown toenail. Dr. Calis addressed that issue and prescribed some ointment for my toe fungus which worked great. Also referred me to vascular doctor who gave me a complete work up. Greatly appreciated the referral. Everything checked out, but at my age it was good information to know. We also discussed future options concerning a bunion that occasionally bothers me. Over all great experience. Dr. Calis listened to my concerns regarding 10 year post surgery issues. He reviewed my x-rays & explained structural changes in my feet. Future options were also discussed, which were very helpful.

I have already referred others to the practice

Dr. Calis rapidly, and without measuring either my feet or the insoles, plopped metatarsal pads on my shoe insoles. He did not bother to check to see If or how the pads fit. I wore them home and they very obviously fit differently under each foot. But I can't readjust them because they are permanently stuck to my insoles, which are now unusable. I wore them again today and after a while my right knee began to hurt. I'm very upset about this visit.
