This was my second visit with Dr Gottschalk. During both visits, I found him to be thorough, attentive, professional, pleasant and a true expert in his field. He listened to my concerns and was responsive to them. He was also very well informed in the treatment plan he offered to address my issue. Both resident physicians I had during each visit were also very professional, pleasant, thorough and attentive.

Dr. Gottschaulk has been amazing through both my elbow surgeries and throughout the period I have been seeing him. I am incredibly grateful that he was able to give me a functional arm and hand, despite the severe damage that occurred when I literally broke my arm in half. He did a brilliant job, and while my arm still has limitations, he has been truthful about what I can expect at every stage. At several points, I was worried that my elbow would not make it through the surgery or be viable. That did not happen due to the skills and knowledge of Dr. Gottschaulk.

This physician was very friendly & made us feel comfortable as soon as he came in the room. He was extremely helpful in explaining exactly what was wrong with my husband. He asked a lot of questions to get a full picture of his overall health. He explained all of our options in great detail & was not in a rush just to do surgery. He preferred to take an easier, less invasive course first based on my husband's overall health & what my husband ultimately wanted the outcome to be - which was less pain & more range of motion. He answered all of our questions & did not make us feel rushed. We left feeling very hopeful & relieved.

It is always refreshing to encounter excellent bedside manner from physicians. The NP/PA who gathered my history and reason for visit was keen on my specific diagnosis and the possible treatment options and outcomes of those options. Then, Dr. G presented with his easygoing, smooth demeanor, and I felt I was in good hands. We all laughed at my good humor even as we discussed my ensuing surgery. I feel confident putting my life in his team's hands.

I had an MRI that was not reviewed before the visit and still don't believe has been considered. There was no real attempt at diagnosis of the problem. Basic idea was, well . . . Maybe a shoulder replacement would work, or maybe a scope. Am seeking second, or perhaps first opinion.

My Dr had a Fellow under his wing. After introducing him, my Dr reviewed my films with me. He then had the fellow handle the physical wrist examination. The Fellow was very thorough and found the tender spot which matched my verbal symptoms. He excused himself to touch base with the doctor.. The Dr Palpitated my wrist and confirmed the Fellow's diagnosis that I was having Carpal Tunnel symptoms, and verified it by location. We discussed the surgery etc. By the time, I returned home, the surgery was in MY CHART. Absolutely amazing.
