Dr.Halkos was very kind and friendly. He answered all of our questions and explained my problem, showed images on computer screen, explained 3-D model. Most informative. We were impressed with his personable demeanor and the amount of time he gave us. As the patient, I felt encouraged when we left.

All interactions with staff and Dr. Halkos were extremely helpful, positive, and detailed. The best professionals gave us satisfaction and relaxation.

I saw the PA (Amanda) first. She is great, gives excellent care. Then I saw Dr. Halkos for surgery follow-up. He also took the time to answer my questions, reassure me of my condition, excellent experience, They are an amazing team!

Doctor made me feel a personal as well as a professional connection. He carefully explained my situation and the several avenues that could be approached to correct the issue I have. And this was done in a way that was understandable without seeming to "talk down" to me whenever I wasn't familiar with certain bits of terminology.

My frustration is that what you experience after the surgery is not clearly discussed, written down or ever addressed. I was led to believe that after a short period of time, I would be recuperating quite well. That has not been the case. It is typical to have low blood pressure, anemia, fluid in your lungs, more exhaustion than expected all of which is fine for recovery. I would have preferred that it was made clear upfront what the recovery would look like. We were not prepared and had to scramble to get help for my recovery.

Very impressed with surgeon and entire staff. Will let you know more after my heart valve surgery!

The procedure I was expecting has come a very long way when I arrived there with the experience I've had with others I have known to have gone through the procedure it was a very pleasant surprise to be told with no complications the procedure would be done totally different and to me that's a miracle and a blessing and I am so grateful and thank God for medical professionals there at Emory.

Dr Halkos gave me his card at the end of the visit and told me he would talk to some of the doctors about whether or not they can Stent the other two areas because he could only bypass one. He picked the easy to get to blockage instead of the one my earlier stent doctor from Arkansas Heart Hospital, Dr. Gary Nash told me needed the stent. He explained why that particular area was a problem for stents and also why it was unreachable without open heart. Dr Halcose did not listen to what I explained and would not talk with me on the phone the next day. Instead he sent my paperwork to the scheduler to book me for robotic bypass without further explanation. I called and sent text but could not get a response.

Dr. Halkos, was genuinely concerned about my coronary artery blockage and spent more than adequate time to answer all my questions even of a technical nature.I have met a few cardiologist before arriving at Dr. Halkos and this was the best interaction ever.I feel very comfortable with Dr. Halkos doing my Robotic hybrid bypass. I hope he stays with Emory and Atlanta for the next 20 years so that I don't have to go anywhere else till I am alive
