Mary S. Newell, MD

Dr. Newell’s radiology interests include emerging imaging technologies, teaching, and advocacy and legislative issues surrounding healthcare. She was voted Radiology Teacher of the Year twice by the residents, and nominated on several other occasions. Dr. Newell has won many awards as an outstanding reviewer for Radiology and the American Journal of Roentgenology and sits on the editorial boards for AJR and Cancer. She holds positions of leadership on several national radiology committees.

To provide the highest quality of care, interpreter services may be utilized to ensure proper communication of medical information for deaf, hard-of-hearing, and non-English speaking patients or family members.

Dr. Newell has been voted Teacher of the Year twice by Emory University School of Medicine residents and has won many awards as an outstanding reviewer for the academic journals Radiology and the American Journal of Roentgenology. She is a fellow of the Woodruff Leadership Academy.
