A board certified hematologist, Martha L. Arellano, MD, specializes in the treatment of leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes. Dr. Arellano started practicing with Emory Healthcare in 2006.
Dr. Arellano is a clinical member of the Discovery and Developmental Therapeutics Research Program at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. She currently leads the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology's Fellowship program.
Dr. Arellano has been featured in "Best Doctors of America", and has received teaching awards from both fellows and internal medicine residents. She is very active in the community, partnering with organizations such as The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, MDS Foundation, and Aplastic Anemia/MDS International Foundation to educate and provide resources for patients, care takers, and healthcare providers. She is a clinical investigator with a focus on finding treatments and cures for patients with leukemias and myelodysplasitc syndromes.

Dr. Arellano was absolutely fantastic. She was very friendly and spent so much time helping me understand what was happening and potential diagnoses and corresponding treatments. I never felt rushed and she was extremely patient and attentive when it came to our all questions. She had been super prompt and communicative since my visit and I hope I can continue working with her.
