About the Provider

Laura Garvey MD, RVT, FACS is a board-certified vascular surgeon who has been caring for patients in the Atlanta area for over two decades. Dr. Garvey earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia where she studied from 1987 to 1991 as part of the Echols Scholar Program. Dr. Garvey received her medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1995. She completed a five-year general surgery residency followed by a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Since completing training in 2001, Dr. Garvey has focused on helping patients with a wide range of vascular conditions, with a special interest in vein care. In 2006, she opened a dedicated vein clinic in Alpharetta, which she led until 2020. After working with a larger multispecialty group, MetroDerm, Dr. Garvey joined the Emory Vein Center in 2024, where she continues to provide advanced, compassionate care for patients with venous disease.

Interpretive Services

To provide the highest quality of care, interpreter services may be utilized to ensure proper communication of medical information for deaf, hard-of-hearing, and non-English speaking patients or family members.
