Oh my goodness, Kelly is the best! The issue this time was a tooth that had broken off. My dentist was going to send me to his oral surgeon for the extraction. Kelly insisted on my seeing the oral surgeon at Emory, because he is experienced with irradiated bone. It made sense.

I enjoyed the one and only telephone conversation that I had with the surgeon, but I never met him face-to-face, which was a little unsettling. Everyone else that I met (the Fellow who met me preoperatively and who assisted during the surgery and the anesthesiologist that met me preoperatively) were absolutely fantastic.

Mrs. Kelly was very thorough while also being kind and compassionate. I know that I am a difficult patient. Surgery was recommended years ago which I declined in order to keep working. Now I need help. Even though I know that must be aggravating I was not made to feel bad. Mrs. Kelly was compassionate and ready to get the ball rolling to help me as quickly and thoroughly as possible. I am grateful.

Kelly was awesome! She is a very knowledgeable and professional. PA. Answered all my questions, reviewed my recent CT scan in detail, pointed out findings on the display. Did a thorough physical exam of mouth, throat, glands. If I didn't see her title, I would think she was the ENT Doctor! If I have any more follow up visits I will definitely be asking for Kelly. She was not in a rush , very easy to talk to , and I left feeling confident that all my concerns had been addressed.

Ms. Summers does a good job at scoping my throat (painless).

A stepped plan of action was detailed during my initial discussion. This provided me and my wife (who was with me at this appointment) a sense of "these people know what they are doing..." one of the many benefits of going to a health care provider who is a specialist and not a generalists.

I give a fair rating because Ms. Summers didn't have an opportunity to speak about risks and future options. I was not there on a routine visit and while there developed an intense post op bleed from the mouth and my glossectomy site. The questions above aren't really relevant and do not reflect the situation Ms. Summers was in.

When describing what she saw on my scope she showed me all the photos and also pulled up anatomy to give me a better description so that I fully understood what she was telling me what's wrong which I thought was extremely kind and helpful instead of saying things I definitely wouldn't understand.

My provider had to remind me that I wasn't the worse case she has seen. Sadly, there have been many worse off, and I appreciated that gentle reminder.
