Karishma Kodia, MD, is a fellowship-trained colon and rectal surgeon with sub-specialty expertise in the management of both benign and malignant diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus. She is dedicated to providing excellent surgical care that places patients and their families at the center of the care team. Dr. Kodia is fluent in English and Spanish, allowing her to care for a diverse patient population with compassion and cultural sensitivity.

Her clinical interests include the treatment of colon and rectal cancer, young-onset colorectal cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. She also specializes in the management of anorectal conditions such as hemorrhoids, anal fissures, fistulas, and fecal incontinence.

Dr. Kodia earned her medical degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. She completed her general surgery residency at the University of Miami / Jackson Health System and served as Administrative Chief Resident. She then completed fellowship training in colon and rectal surgery at the prestigious Washington University in St. Louis, where she received advanced training in minimally invasive, laparoscopic, and robotic techniques.

She is passionate about advancing colorectal health through surgical excellence, multidisciplinary collaboration, and patient education. Her care philosophy centers on building trust, empowering patients, and delivering thoughtful, individualized treatment plans.
