I appreciate the doctor inquiring why I did not want pain meds. Wanted the least invasive treatment to see how that helped. Ended up with prednisone, physical therapy and see if insurance will approve updated MRI.

I was surprised to read my after visit notes. I do not have a normal gait, my arm strength was not tested, my handwriting has gotten terrible, and so on. My PA was nice and recommended MRIs, which I agree was appropriate. I simply wish he'd been more accurate with his documentation.

Options for followup care is limited as Emory has limited availability for the specialist -- neurologist -- the PA recommended. I don't hold the PA solely responsible for the difficulty in getting an appointment, but seems Emory could offer suggestions for options when calling the referral line. Not every medical issue can wait 6 months or more to see a specialists. Medical providers should be offered suggested ways to help patients get care sooner.
