A board certified medical oncologist, J. William Eley, MD, MPH, practices oncology at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University and at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Eley joined the faculty at Emory University in 1989 after completing his internal medicine and oncology training when he accepted a position in the Department of Epidemiology at the newly formed Rollins School of Public Health. His research involves health disparities in cancer outcomes between patients of different race/ethnicities. Dr. Eley previously served as the Chair of the American Cancer Society's Council for Extramural Grants. His service on the Medical School Admission's Committee led to his appointment as Associate Dean and Director of Admissions in 2000. In 2004, he was appointed Executive Associate Dean for Medical Education and Student Affairs at the Emory University School of Medicine.
Dr. Eley received an undergraduate degree in chemistry, his Medical Degree, and his Masters of Public Health, all from Emory University. He also completed his Internship, Residency, and Fellowship at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals.
