Dr Baer allows a two way conversation, and is very interested in how I feel about what he's recommending. He also explains a lot and does it very well. He drew me an artery with a patch of cholesterol and explained how heart attacks happen, that really helped me understand better. He always gives me plenty of time in our conversations, and explains things very well.

Both doctor and the nurse were great. Spending more than adequate time and exhibiting excellent courtesy and bed side manner throughout.

This was my first appointment with Dr Baer, cardiologist at the 550 midtown location. This was also a visit to establish care because I had been receiving cardiology care from a physician at Piedmont hospital for the last almost 20 years. I could not have been more pleased with Dr Bayer and his staff. Specifically, Dr Baer took time listening to me and then answering my questions, reviewing my cardiac Care on my chart at Piedmont and asking me questions. All of these are things my previous cardiologist at Piedmont never did in the last 3 to 5 years. Prior to that he had been perfectly acceptable to me but at some point he had an issue with his eye and was not able to perform surgery after that and he was clearly not interested in seeing patients, at least this patient. I have some cardiac issues including an aneurysm and a leaking valve. I cannot say enough good things about Dr Baer and look forward to his continued care for my cardiology issues.

Dr. Beer is a caring, careful, and collaborative physician. He described treatment options clearly along with an easy to understand risk benefit assessment. He encouraged me to make my own decision on next steps.

Discussed current medications and results of recent blood work and echocardiogram. Discussed echo changes over the last three years. Advised to continue using current medication, annual echo and defer any valve replacement until absolutely necessary. Advised me to monitor my own physical activity and focus on reducing my body weight. Also referred my high calcium level condition to my PCP. I agreed.

It seemed that he had a hard time understanding my concerns. I know he's a Doctor, but it seems to me that he lacks human quality.
