About the Provider

Dr. Benarroch-Gampel received his MD degree from La Universidad del Zulia School of Medicine, Maracaibo, Venezuela, in 2003. He completed his internship and the second year of his general surgery residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medical College. He did the remainder of his residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston, where he also received a Master of Clinical Science, health services track, as part of his clinical outcomes research fellowship. Prior to joining our faculty, Dr. Benarroch-Gampel completed his vascular surgery fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. His primary areas of clinical interest are aortic surgery for aneurysmal and occlusive disease, cerebrovascular disease, thoracic outlet syndrome, and venous disease. His research focuses on the use of large databases to evaluate patterns in the use of diagnostic tests, to examine clinical outcomes after vascular surgery interventions, and to assess factors that affect quality of care. His primary clinical site is Grady Memorial Hospital.
