I really liked meeting Dr. Gatcombe. She was very easy-going and friendly, yet very knowledgeable, and she allayed my fears about radiation therapy. She had already looked at some studies pertinent to my situation. Being a scientist myself, I really value when a physician is following the latest research and trying to do the best for the patient. She provided treatment options and waited for my response. She did not hurry me along and didn't even ask that we needed to make a decision right there and then. Although after listening to her explanation of risk reduction, I felt pretty certain about the treatment option that I would choose - of course, with her and my medical oncologist's advice and consent. I was totally satisfied with Dr. Gatcombe's care and bedside manner and have complete trust in her going forward.
