About the Provider

Dr. Sanusi is board certified in anesthesiology and his specialty interests include pediatric, obstetric, and regional anesthesiology. He is also trained in ultrasound guided regional blocks and pain management.

After graduating from Louisiana Tech University, he earned his medical degree in 1988 from Louisiana State University School of Medicine. Dr. Sanusi completed his anesthesiology residency in Tampa, Florida in 1992 at the University of South Florida, where he was selected to serve as chief resident. He then completed additional fellowship training in obstetric anesthesiology at LSU Medical Center.

In 1992, he became an instructor of anesthesiology and obstetrics and gynecology at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Eventually, he relocated to Marietta, Georgia in 1993 practicing anesthesiology and pain management at WellStar Douglas Hospital where he was Director of Anesthesiology from 1995-2007 and Chief of Staff 2003-2005. He also served as Director of Anesthesiology at WellStar Cobb Hospital and Medical Director of ApolloMD – Anesthesia division 2008-2011.

Dr. Sanusi joined Emory Healthcare/Emory Specialty Associates in September 2013 and is currently on staff at Emory Johns Creek and Emory Orthopedics and Spine Hospitals.

Dr. Sanusi is married and the proud parent of four active children. His hobbies include tennis, golf, cycling and spending time with his family.
