Gaurang N. Vaidya, MD is an Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist and Assistant Professor of Medicine. He completed his fellowship training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Before joining Emory University, he held key positions at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Clara, California, and at the University of Kentucky, where he served as Director of Cardiac Amyloidosis. Dr. Vaidya is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Advanced Heart Failure.
With over 30 PubMed-indexed publications and 6,000 citations, Dr. Vaidya is recognized for impactful research focused on simplifying clinical practice (including the POCUS-JVD study) and advancing care for infiltrative cardiomyopathies. He is the recipient of an NIH R01 grant, multiple early-career awards, and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha (ΑΩΑ).
Dr. Vaidya is dedicated to clear, compassionate communication, making complex information accessible to his patients. Known for his easy laugh and approachable bedside manner, he fosters an environment of trust and comfort in every patient interaction. He routinely performs right heart catheterization, endomyocardial biopsy, and CardioMEMS placement.
