I was impressed with Dr. Vivas. She explained why we should take a watch and wait approach versus doing anything. The possible risks of treating my vestibular schwannoma far outweighed the possible positives.

The doctor was nice and provided good information, but I felt rushed during my appointment. She was running behind, so I think she was rushing me to try to catch up. I had some additional quiestions, but didn't feel like I could ask them because she was in a hurry.

Dr. Vivas is the first doctor, ENT, or assistant who actually took my concern as real. I told Dr. Vivas I had a puncture in my right eardrum that never healed. She said it was hard to find but that there was definitely a hole in my eardrum and that would have to be repaired before we could go ahead with a cochlear implant. The ENT surgeon at my regular office was so emphatic there was no hole that he said I did not need to use an ear plug and could go ahead and get water in my ear. But I know that twice I have gotten fluid in that ear and it has gone down into my throat and I have ended up with two severe ear infections causing an extreme loss of hearing in that ear. Thank you so much Dr. Vivas for actually believing and listening to me and going the extra step to search for a rather well hidden hole. I feel so extremely confident in Dr. Vivas and her ability to not only help me but to actually believe I know what I'm talking about. I feel so blessed. Thank you.
