Being diagnosed with cancer is challenging enough for the patient and family. I did not know what I was dealing with prior to the visits, so I was not prepared to ask questions. Questions. I did not know what to ask. I felt like I was pulling information from the doctor. I was looking for something positive, a silver lining somewhere to be found. Surely, something positive could have been said I think the doctor's approach was robotic and out of touch with the realities that people experience. I was disappointed with that.

Dr Dong Shin has been most accommodating these last two years. I appreciate him. It is not a reflection on any one when I add, though, that I am rarely comfortable making medical referrals.

If improvement could be made, it would be with the very first place where a patient meets registration data entry persons. Some data entry folks are personable, others are more similar to cattle drivers. No patient is there for hospitality, but probably some basic sensitivity training for entry level staff and patience with patients would be greatly appreciated.

This was my first time doing a video call. I had a very good experience and Dr. Shin took the time to answer all of my questions. With this being a follow up visit, I requested the video call since I live 3 hours away from Emory. I was very pleased.
