About the Provider

Celine R. Soriano, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Colorectal Surgery within the Department of Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine. She received her MD from Northeast Ohio Medical University. She is a board-certified general surgeon and completed her general surgery residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA, followed by a colorectal surgery fellowship at Emory University.

Dr. Soriano’s clinical focus includes the treatment of both benign and malignant diseases of the colon, rectum, and anus. Her areas of interest encompass inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, rectal prolapse, and pelvic floor and anorectal disorders, including anal fissures, fistulas, and hemorrhoids, as well as colon, rectal, and anal cancers. She has a particular interest in minimally invasive and robotic approaches to colon and rectal surgery. Dr. Soriano collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams—including gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiation oncologists, and urogynecologists—to develop personalized treatment plans for each patient. She is known for her compassionate approach and dedication to making patients feel heard and well cared for.

Dr. Soriano is an active member of several national surgical societies, including the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the Association of Women Surgeons, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons. Her research is focused on improving the quality of care for patients with colorectal disease and enhancing outcomes in minimally invasive colorectal surgery. She is also deeply committed to surgical education.
