My concerns were not properly addressed. The doctor seemed more interested in expressing his disdain for medication than in helping.

I felt like he was chastising me for choosing him via MyChart because "he is a cancer doctor and he doesn't treat benign issues". Even when he attempted to help, I felt dismissed and talked down to, especially when he commented that my upcoming surgery with another provider was "big" (like I didn't understand that or I didn't need that) and when I declined gabapentin for side effect reasons. Then when I said I can't tolerate steroids he looked over at his resident as if to roll his eyes because I was being difficult. Even if I did ever get cancer, I would never choose him as my provider. It all felt as though I was wasting his time.

Dr Kaka is highly compassionate. His decisions regarding my treatment are always patient-centric. Just seeing him and knowing he would listen to me brought me to the tears of relief. He provided care options and considered my input in next steps. I would highly recommend him, his team, and the entire Winship community. Having cancer is scary, confusing, and painful. Winship addresses all of these aspects of my disease. I know I'm being treated by people who care about me as an individual.

Dr. Kaka was fantastic. I felt he answered all of my questions, he asked probing questions to try and figure out why I am having these symptoms. Examined my mouth and neck, glands, all what I felt was needed. He has a great bedside manner and I felt comfortable talking and asking questions. He gave great insight and next steps that we both agreed were necessary. I'm working on my exercises and have the MRI scheduled. I would highly recommend him to anyone that needs an ENT specialist.
