About the Provider
About Mr. Earle-Richardson
Andrew Earle-Richardson, PA-C, is a physician assistant at Emory Midtown. He graduated from Duke University School of Medicine’s Physician Assistant Program and has a Master’s Degree in Health Sciences.
Andy has served as a physician assistant for over 25 years. Before coming to Emory, he had a number of diverse positions. In Brownsville, Texas, he served in a Migrant and Community Health Center as a National Health Service Corps Scholarship recipient.
He then moved to upstate NY where he practiced a blend of internal medicine, pediatrics, and emergency medicine for 18 years. Prior to joining Emory, he spent 5 years pursuing a lifelong dream as a medical officer for the U.S. Peace Corps caring for volunteers in Guinea, Mali, and Senegal.
Andy speaks English, French, and Spanish.
He is interested in health promotion and preventive medicine, and is especially dedicated to making the connection between patient’s lifestyle and their health.
Focusing on the patient’s story
When you first see Andy, feel comfortable telling him your story -- why you need to see a medical provider. He will ask questions later, but wants his patients to trust him with their details. “I really want to get to know them,” says Andy, “then we can put a treatment plan together that meets your needs.”
Very often, people need urgent care because a chronic condition (like hypertension or diabetes) isn’t under control. “I really like to teach my patients as much as possible about their condition so they understand the things that affect it.”
Making healthy changes
Once the medical problem is under control, Andy will help his patient make small lifestyle changes that have visible benefits in the short-term -- and will benefit their health in the long-term.
For example, a patient with diabetes might have trouble controlling their blood sugar and their weight. Once blood sugar is under control, he will encourage a little exercise - like walking a bit -- which can result in a little weight loss over time, which improves diabetes. “Parking further from the front door gives people a little exercise every day,” he explains. “The positive effects add up over time.”
Cultivating a friendship
Andy won’t rush through the appointment, and he will work through any problem with you. Patients find that Andy is a good listener and really cares about them. “I like to establish a professional friendship, a very open, friendly, trusting relationship,” he says.
He is very open about discussing difficult issues, and wants his patients to leave his office feeling like they have made a connection. “I’ve worked with patients from all walks of life - and I really like to understand a person’s family environment, the generation they were born in, whether they are raising kids or just raisin’ Cain. All these details help me help them.”
“I hope we can also have fun with these visits. Life is too short. I’m going to try to make you laugh, even when you don’t feel well. That is better than any drug I can prescribe!”

I am so grateful for the clinical skills and compassion of Andrew Earle-Richardson PA. He was an absolutely fantastic clinician. He treated me with great care and respect. He listened very thoroughly to my lungs and to my symptoms and my perception of what was going on. I feel confident about my recovery and my knowledge of my asthma condition. It was scary to get pneumonia and I could not be more grateful that he was there for me.If I were to get flu and/or pneumonia again, or an exacerbation of my asthma symptoms, I feel confident about what I need to do.Please value him and do not work him too hard because he's a fantastic PA and Emory is VERY lucky to have him.

- 5 out of 5 starsReviewed on 8/16/2025
We discussed my weight loss journey and concluded that I should proceed to the next level. Every item I asked the nurse about,Dr Earle-Richardson discussed with me. His concern for relieving my anxiety about a summer rash, as well as dermatology related problems just confirms why he couldn't stay on schedule by restricting patients to a time slot. The reason he stays high on my list is how he balances professional discourse with effective banter to make a visit to the doctor a pleasure and educational.
