About the Provider
Dr. Benz attended medical school at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine and received his MD in 2018. He completed residency training at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in the Washington, DC area and later went on to work as an OBGYN in the US Army for 4 years. During his time in the army, Dr. Benz took care of service members and their dependents of all ages and levels of medical complexity. He additionally completed advanced training in tactical field medicine as well as well as sexual assault forensics.
Dr. Benz is a board certified OBGYN with the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has been involved in academic medicine since residency. He chose to remain in academic medicine at Emory because he values teaching, service, and remaining the most up to date on topics related to women’s health. Dr. Benz grew up in the Atlanta area and appreciates the opportunity to serve as a women’s health provider for patient’s through out Georgia and the surrounding region.
Outside of work, Dr. Benz enjoys running, hiking, travel, and spending time with his dogs.
