About the Provider
Dr. Andrew C. Smith is an interventional pain physician dedicated to improving the quality of life for patients through advanced, evidence-based pain management techniques. He completed his medical degree at East Tennessee State University Quillen College of Medicine followed by residency training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Florida. He then completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship followed by an Interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship at the University of Florida. He holds a board certification in Emergency Medicine and a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Smith specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex pain conditions, including spine-related disorders, neuropathic pain, and musculoskeletal injuries. He is skilled in a wide range of interventional procedures such as epidural injections, radiofrequency ablation, and spinal cord stimulation with a special interest in kyphoplasty and veteran care.
Prior to medicine, Dr. Smith had a 15-year career in the U.S. Navy flying the F/A-18. Dr. Smith’s experience as a veteran brings a unique perspective to patient care—emphasizing precision, discipline, and compassion. Outside of medicine, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his wife, 3 kids, and golden retriever. His hobbies include fitness, SCUBA diving, and flying.
