About the Provider
Dr. Hutchinson co-developed and validated a novel eye chart for children, the Handy Eye Chart™ for use in non-verbal or non-English speaking individuals. She recently introduced a specialty clinic for children with cerebral visual impairment. Dr. Hutchinson participates in a number of NEI-funded pediatric ophthalmology studies that apply evidence-based medicine to the treatment of amblyopia and other pediatric eye diseases.

Dr. Hutchinson is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, the Pediatric Cortical Visual Impairment Society and the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology.
She received the honor award and the senior honor award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology and from the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. She currently serves as vice-chair of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus’s vision screening committee and is on the editorial board of the Journal of the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus.
Dr. Hutchinson recently served on the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Ophthalmic Technology Assessment Committee where she was first author on two policy statements and co-author on five additional policy statements.

We saw the doctor for all of 8 minutes after waiting over an hour (after the point of eye dilation). I am grateful for these annual follow up to watch for problems that may develop, but I wish they felt more worthwhile/valuable.

Dr. Hutchinson was the best ophthalmologist I have ever seen. Her willingness to listen and patience when explaining and answering questions helped us really trust her as a provider. She was eager to learn about research I inquired about. She had a rare humble quality you don't often see in doctors of her high-standing. She was amazing! Love her!

Could've listened more could've been prepared didn't know why child was there didn't read notes prior to entering room nor did she ask she assumed it was a regular check up instead of an ER follow up. Didn't acknowledge my concern

Dr. Hutchinson is awesome just love her she's been seeing my child since he was a baby for 8 years. Dr. Hutchinson really care about the well being of her patients and great bedside manner. I don't know what I'll do without her.
