Dr. Dempsey is undoubtedly an excellent surgeon, but she would be an even better practitioner If she improved her interpersonal skills. She has a brusque manner that can be harsh, especially when delivering unpleasant news. Please remember that there is a whole person attached to the hand being treated. Patients tend to be more compliant when they feel that their healthcare provider actually cares about them and the treatment outcome.

Dr Dempsey does not talk under or over my understanding. She tried to get my OT EVAL date moved up. Was happy to use my self supplied TKO Brace so as not to keep me in a gutter splinter to long while waiting 3 weeks for OT.

The doctor appeared to have had a bad day. Not friendly, seemed distracted, and barely made eye contact. I introduced my wife, whom she barely looked at or greeted her. This was a bit rude.

If my Xrays showed nothing was wrong than why did the emergency dr who treated tell Me I Dislocated my thumb - gave me injection through IV for pain and proceeded to put my thumb back into place and told me to see a hand specialist.

Dr. Dempsey was very thorough with my care. She went over everything with me and explained in detail what would be happening and why she wanted to do surgery. She was very patient answering my questions

I spent 2 hours waiting on the Dr. I was in my room so long the lights went out! When she came she was stressed and tired and barely interacted with me. She didn't diagnose me, showed no care for my pain, and was incredibly flippant about the pain existing in different ways in my wrist, elbow, and shoulder blade. I told them it had been a 9/10 pain the week before but was luckily a 3 this week. She handed me a print out of an Amazon brace I already told her I own and a referral for PT. No trying to look into it further, no further explanation or questions, and literally didn't seem to care this has debilitated my life and work. She only checked my wrist when it is a much more complicated problem. It was very disheartening.

I needed a second opinion concerning my problem and I am glad that I did, because Dr. Dempsey explained everything to me and took the time to make sure I understood what was going on

I have now been given 3 different diagnoses about my wrist. Two of the docs seemed to pay little attention to what I was describing. Very frustrating!! The Techs were far more helpful.

Dr. Dempsey was fantastic at diagnosing my condition and creating a treatment plan that not only addressed my current concern but allowed me to start preventative strength training to avoid injury in the future.
