I was not particularly comfortable with explanations explaining why I was continuing to have consistent pain and weakness in my right leg six weeks after surgery.

Amelia clearly knows her stuff. She explained in understandable terms what was going on with my hip. And the treatment options.

Amalia did a thorough work up and explained to me in detail what was wrong. She made me feel comfortable. I am thankful I found her!

Although I prefer seeing a doctor, the PA did her job. I suggest to show the patient their MRI or X-rays as you explain the issue(s) the patient is experiencing.

Excellent communicator who listened and explained

The PA was versed in my case, listened closely and asked clarifying questions, gave all options for treatment and helped me form an appropriate plan during each of my visits.

Amalia did an excellent job of explaining my x-ray results in detail and she shared recommendations to help me improve my health outcomes through exercise and physical therapy. I felt optimistic and relieved after meeting with her.

In her notes in MyChart she stated that she discussed natural alternatives for treatment. She did not. However, when I saw that and emailed her, she responded quickly to review the alternatives with me. She took her time and made sure I had all of my questions answered.

My mom and I were both very impressed with Amalia and Dr. Whitfield's entire team. Amalia took the time to answer our numerous questions and explained them in a way that was easy to understand. She was very thorough and never made me feel like I was asking a stupid question and made me feel like all my concerns regarding my surgery were valid. She was very patient and kind and did well covering everything to expect before, during and after my surgery. She even made sure that I had met all of Dr. Whitfield's team so I would see familiar faces in the operating room. My mom kept commenting how she wishes she had Dr. Whitfield and his team for all of her surgeries over the years and was very impressed.I somehow walked out of my appointment less anxious about my surgery than walking into it, which I didn't think was possible! Amalia had an answer for everything and truly went above and beyond. She was very genuine and could tell that she cares deeply about her patients.As someone on the autism spectrum, knowing what to expect and understanding all of the small details of my surgery, from prep and pre-op to recovery and beyond, makes all the difference in the world. I never felt rushed. And having a team on your side that takes the time to all pop in to speak with my mom and I during my appointment provides both of us the reassurance that I'll be in good hands and all will be okay.
