About the Provider
Alicia Bonanno, MD, is an assistant professor of Surgery in the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department and practices at Emory University Hospital Midtown and Grady Memorial Hospital. She completed her medical degree at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. She then completed her general surgery residency at Oregon Health and Science University. Following residency, she completed her cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Emory University, after which she joined as faculty.
Dr. Bonanno's primary clinical focus is general thoracic surgery with particular interest in thoracic oncology, esophageal surgery, and robotic thoracic surgery. She is currently an associate program director for the cardiothoracic surgery residency at Emory University. Her research interests include surgical education research and outcomes in thoracic oncology.

Doctor is very wise, great bed side manner. She does not rush you but takes time to answer all your questions. I had a friend that went to the appointment with me that said if she needed that kind of doctor she would use her, she was impressed with her also.

Dr Bonanno is a phenomenal doctor. She showed me great care and explained everything to me. I went into my surgery fully aware of what to expect. After surgery she saw me in the hospital and checked in on me and again provided great care

Dr Bonanno was very good at explaining our treatment options. She is very personable and knowledgeable. We would feel comfortable having her as our care provider. We are just exploring 2nd opinions at the Cleveland Clinic next week. We will review all of our options. We have no hesitation with Dr Bonanno treating me. But we just want to see what else is available.
