About the Provider
Akhila Rajaram, DO, is an OBGYN who sees patients at Emory Clinic. Her clinical interests include endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding and high-risk obstetrics.
Dr. Rajaram’s love of science and desire to help people led her to become a physician. But the relationships she builds with those she cares for mean the most to her in her career. She is involved in some of the most intimate moments of her patients’ lives and considers that a privilege. She believes her role is to be their advocate and to work with them to create a partnership. Together, they can focus on addressing the patient’s needs.
When she’s away from work, Dr. Rajaram enjoys spending time with family and exploring the area. She also likes jogging and playing the violin.

She was excellent, patient, asked questions I look forward to her being my doctor. A much better experience than I expected. A+++ for all

My doctor was not thorough at all, rushing me through appointments. In response to my questions she changed the subject and avoided answering themShe did not check my chart, therefore not realizing I was on metformin for diabetes while pregnant. Therefore she suggested the gestational diabetes test when a CGM glucose monitor was the appropriate move as I knew from my husband who is a doctor. It wasn't until denying my request that she called back later when she actually looked at my chart to change the plan from the gestational diabetes test to the CGM to keep track of glucose. I also have a hormonal IUD still in my body while pregnant. When I asked her to look again for the strings for the IUD just as a second look she resisted and when she eventually decided to do itshe made it out to be a huge inconvenience

Didn't listen. Assumed and didn't want to pair with me regarding care. Went by the book which is "ok" but there are times to listen to the patient.

It was my first visit to Emory and with Dr. Rajaram. My first impression was beyond satisfactory. I appreciated the level of care and attention I received.
- 2 out of 5 starsReviewed on 12/10/2025
Dr did not even examine me. It's like she was just there to take notes. I could have did a televisit. Horrible interaction I felt like l was a bother. It was like was she was showing just enough kindness. I got undresses for nothing.

The doctor saw me for like 10min, and decided to refer me to another doctor without ability to explain any treatment, questions I had about my situations, and such.
- 5 out of 5 starsReviewed on 11/6/2025
She was wonderful - both informative and reassuring.
- 3 out of 5 starsReviewed on 10/27/2025
Wish provider had asked me what I already knew about my condition as I was aware of most, if not all, of the information she shared. I felt my concerns were initially minimized and attributed to factors that had already been ruled out by other providers. Explanation of treatment options was appropriate by left feeling that I was not fully understood.

Dr. Rajaram is an excellent doctor! She showed so much care and gave my diagnosis urgency to schedule my outpatient surgery to make sure everything is taken care of on time before anything spreads to larger area in my Uterus. She explained everything in detail before the surgery date was scheduled She explained the benefits of IUD for my situation, right before my surgery and allowed me to make my own decisions after giving me all details that I needed to know. My post surgery visit with Dr. Rajaram was very beneficial, as she showed me photos of my uterus taken before and after the polyps were removed. She took the time to explain future plans and included me with decision making for preventive care. She has empathy for how I was feeling before and after this surgery. She's an awesome doctor!! I'm grateful I found her from a list of Emory doctors and she's now my doctor. Thank you for caring and for saving my life Dr. Rajaram!!

I'm so happy- I've been dealing with this issue for over 18 months and Doctor's outside of Emory couldn't figure it out. It took me coming to Midtown ER and following up at main campus to know what was wrong. The doctor went above and beyond, even drawing me diagram, for better understanding. She was clear with her plans for my care. I felt a relief when I left the appointment. Emory is top tier.
- 5 out of 5 starsReviewed on 10/3/2025
She has amazing bedside manners, she ensured that she answered all my questions and educated me on things I didn't know. She has gained a new patient.

I am pleased with my first visit. The care provider was great.
- 1 out of 5 starsReviewed on 10/1/2025
The appointment was extremely rushed. To the questions that I was able to ask, I received half-baked answers. The office was running behind. It was clear that the doctor wanted me in and out of her exam room as soon as possible. The appointment was so rushed that I eventually didn't feel comfortable asking more of my prepped questions.

- 5 out of 5 starsReviewed on 9/7/2025
Dr. Rajarean is very detailed. Details were given about the procedure which included who was doing it, what they would be doing, post procedures. All the information was explained in language that I was able to understand and comprehend. I was well pleased with my experience with the Dr. Rajarean and will continue to share my experiences with family and aquaintinances.

I asked for a routine blood test, was denied because "she wouldn't follow up on it". ? Ran through the appointment quickly, felt like a total wash of a trip and I'll be finding a new dr elsewhere.

Dr. Rajaram was actually the best. Listener, practitioner, communicator. I am so grateful to have found her and hope she stays at Emory.
- 4 out of 5 starsReviewed on 6/10/2024
Doctor explained to me results of my ultrasound. She even drew an example of what ultrasound showed (I guess because my expression showed I was clueless). Doctor also wrote down and explained the 3 procedures she was going to perform during my outpatient surgery. Explaining how long she estimated the procedure to take, possible after surgery side effects, asked if I had additional questions and stated her office would follow up with me with date for surgery. As of today I have not heard from anyone.
- 2 out of 5 starsReviewed on 6/2/2024
Provider couldn't tell me why I had the symptoms I had. I went to a different practice and the gynecologist was able to tell me what's going on and gave me the right medication. It was surprising that a gynecologist didn't know what was happening and kept giving me random reasons. Prescribed UTI medicine when I didn't have it and told me everything was normal and to follow up with my PCP.
- 2 out of 5 starsReviewed on 5/25/2024
I had concerns about taking birth control for my fibroids and she said I should be fine. That was not comforting for someone that doesn't take medicine. Never made aware that blood clots could form with medication. Also, I didn't receive a Pap smear. I was told to follow up in 3 months. I felt a lack of empathy for solving my problem. I wish I would have gotten a different doctor.
- 5 out of 5 starsReviewed on 5/16/2024
Dr. Rajaram addressed all issues I had and gave space for me to bring concerns up to discuss
