Doctor was very good at listening to all of mySymptoms and concerns and followed through to run additional tests and labs. HisKindness and compassion were better than any doctor I have been to. He explained what the concern was on my MRI that led meThere, what tests had been conducted and what had been ruled out. Instead of leaving his office frustrated and overwhelmed, I felt hope and I knew he was going to help me!

I have a very unique diagnosis, and w all my past experiences w other hospitals in the Atlanta area, Dr Machki has been the ONLY specialist familiar and knowledge regarding my case. He is certainly a leader in SCI! He is also compassionate and caring about his patients. He is to be commended on all levels. Emory is in my opinion, the TOP of medical care in Atlanta.

Our provider was magnificent. Although we waited an extraordinarily long time to be face-to-face with the provider, the care we received was wonderful. They spoke to us on a level we can understand and listen to our concerns. In fact, they took the time to explain issues that had not been explained to us through a 26 year long health battle. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't know the underlying reason why I have the headaches I have.

It was clear the doctor was uninformed about my condition. He seemed unsure and flustered. I work in healthcare so I understand sometimes you have a patient in front of you that is medically confusing However he provided no information of value or education about my condition, the symptoms I'm having or anything at all! I had to probe and ask multiple times why he wanted me to get another MRI when I have four or five in the system as a recent one two months ago. I was very fisatisfied with his lack of knowledge about my condition, inability to explain my options and lack of understanding pressing any understanding about Chiari malformation. I felt completely crushed and sad when leaving because I wasted fourth minutes getting there waited two hours for a ten minute totally uninformatice appointment He basically told me to get another mri and follow up. I don't know why he did not just tell me this before the appointment and save me hours and money. So dissapointing!!

My appt was good. My history is very complex and I know that a final diagnosis will take time. However. I waited 9 months for an appt and had to rush 4 years of information into 30 minutes. There are key things and events that I wanted to discuss but wasn't able to do because I was cut off in conversation.

As we said before, this is hands down one of the best (if not the very best) doctor we've ever seen & my Dad has seen plenty of doctors due to his rare condition which was finally diagnosed by Dr. Makki. It was an all around good visit. I normally get frustrated when a med student interviews me before the doctor because it feels like a waste of my time because I have to repeat myself with the doctor. This medical student was the exception. He seemed concerned about me and asked questions to clarify what was going on with me and he conveyed it well to Dr. Makki. This was my third appointment with Dr. Makki. It was previously easy to tell he was an excellent neurologist. Dr. Makki went out of his way to explain things clearly after listening patiently to my description of how the issue started and evolved.
