About the Provider
Dr. Rajani attended medical school at the University of Michigan, did his general surgery training at the Cleveland Clinic, undertook his surgical critical care residency and trauma fellowship at Emory, and completed his vascular and endovascular surgery fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic.
Since joining Emory in 2011 as the chief of vascular and endovascular surgery at Grady Memorial Hospital with a secondary appointment in the division of cardiology, Dr. Rajani has been heavily involved in the development of cardiovascular services at the facility. Grady Vascular Surgery includes three full-time faculty, advanced practice providers, vascular ultrasound technicians, and offers comprehensive elective and emergent vascular care.
Dr. Rajani is also an associate program director for the general surgery residency, and oversees surgical education at Grady. The vascular surgery service currently trains residents from both Emory University and the Morehouse schools of medicine, and includes trainees from vascular surgery, general surgery, cardiology, and trauma surgery.
Dr. Rajani has served as the principal investigator for several trauma-specific clinical trials, and is particularly interested in refining thoracic stent graft technology for treating blunt aortic injury. He is currently the national PI of a prospective, multi-center, non-blinded, non-randomized study of a novel stent graft in subjects with traumatic injury of the descending thoracic aorta. Additionally, Dr. Rajani has chaired multiple national leadership committees and has authored multiple high-impact publications in peer-reviewed journals.
