Doctor gave advice clearly

Dr. Mahajan is so kind and patient and he is a great Surgeon as of this time. I feel very blessed and grateful to him for his knowledge and professionalism.

This was the first time I had met Dr Mahajan. He is very knowledgeable and explained the results of my ultrasound. He talked about what could be done moving forward to take care of my problem in the future. I really liked him! He's easy to talk to and it was a great visit!

During the procedure he was so gentle and care about my comfort level. In summary he is a very competent surgen and an excellent health care provider.

The physician is lacking integrity because of the misinformation he put in the notes from the visit and surgery on MyChart. He avoided responding to my concerns in MYCHART and was evasive about the malfunctioning equipment in person. He appears nice to a certain extent, but never apologized for the pain I endured during the last surgery when the equipment malfunctioned. Not to mention the back up one wasn't working so there was not a replacement.

He is extremely knowledge and patient, which means the world to me, as I ask ALOT of questions. I've never had any major surgery and this was my first procedure in a hospital. I would recommend him any day to anyone. His bed side manner is excellent, which is a RARE occurrence in medicine now. Emory is very lucky to have him. You can tell a lot about a physician by the way the nurses speak of him. They had amazing things to say not only about him but the way he performed the procedure I was having done. Dr Mahajan is one of the finest physicians in the Emory system. He was excellent during the procedure and was great on an EQ level, too. The assisting technician Vi was also excellent.

Dr. Mahajan very quickly told me what he could do for my legs and then informed me that I am going to the ER and had two staff members get me there by way of wheelchair. He calmly portrayed the urgency of the situation.

He offered me treatment of vein ablation, which I have no idea what it is. Or it could be that we should continue with compression hose. From what I understood, he did not know whether either one of them would work for my problem. I need more explanation about the vein problem if it really is one.

I don't understand why every one (doctors, etc listen to heart and lungs throug one, two, of even three layers of clothing. Dr. Stead would not be amused.

Did not feel at ease with doctors responses..Very vague and left feeling like questions were not answered or wasn't explained thoroughly..

In addition to seeing the doctor, I had an ultrasound just before seeing him performed by a tech in his practice. She was not friendly in the least. She answered questions curtly and when I experienced a burning sensation in my groin area that made me jump and say ouch, she said very curtly sorry but gave no other explanation. At the end she left without explanation, brought in another tech who did not introduce herself or explain why she was brought in. Very disappointed in this treatment. I have had an ultrasound previously before seeing my doctor and it was much more professionally conducted.

Dr Mahajan is a very competent and concerned physician. He explains issues related to one's condition He assures that the patient is not anxious or stressed about pending diagnosis and treatment.

This was my first visit with this doctor, and I was very pleased with his concern and thoughtfulness.

While I think Dr. Mahajan is very competent to perform the sclerotherapy and vein ablation that I had completed he generally rushes through visits and doesn't express much concern for patient questions/concerns. I'm not sure if this is due to the patient workload or that he doesn't feel that these are worthy of his time but I was a patient with medical concerns and felt like I was rushed through my visits and not shown much concern. I wouldn't recommend Dr. Mahajan to anyone given the experience I had. I felt that it was better to see a doctor at Emory for these concerns regarding my varicose veins instead of someone at a vein clinic that may be advertised on the radio, etc. However I wonder if I would have had a better experience going somewhere else.
