About the Provider
Dr. Fixelle received his undergraduate degree at Columbia University and after completing a Master’s degree in Biology/Biochemistry at Southern Illinois University, earned his medical degree and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. After completion of his medicine residency, Dr. Fixelle received formal gastroenterology specialty training during his fellowship at the Emory University School of Medicine.
Dr. Fixelle is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is a Fellow in the American College of Gastroenterology and member of numerous other professional organizations.
He is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine in Digestive Diseases at Emory University School of Medicine, and has served in numerous hospital staff leadership roles, including Section Chief of Gastroenterology, Chairman of the Patient Care Committee, Chairman of the Department of Medicine and Hospital Chief of Staff at the former Emory Dunwoody Medical Center and served as the Section Chief for Gastroenterology at Northside Hospital. Dr. Fixelle is the Medical Director of Endoscopy Consultants, L.L.C. - one of the two AAAHC-certified Ambulatory Endoscopy Centers associated with the practice.
Dr. Fixelle strives to deliver personalized, high quality, gastroenterology specialty care to each of his patients. He is proud to serve along with his colleagues and support staff at Gastroenterology Consultants, P.C. In 2011, U.S. News & World Reports magazine named him one of the “Top Doctors in the U.S.” and by Atlanta Magazine as "Top Doctor" in 2016-2019.
Originally a native of New York, Dr. Fixelle has lived in Atlanta since 1983. He is married and the proud father of three responsible young adults, and recently became a grandfather.
